Musical Fractions T1 SlJ

Task Description:I learnt about time signature for music. I learnt some of the different note names  and the beats that go with them. It was interesting to know how many claps that go with the beat. I’ve seen these notes before in my church hymn books and I would like to see if i can understand some the time signatures in there.

  1. Kia ora Ezia,
It’s Mrs Clifford from the Summer Learning Journey Commenting Team.

It’s great to read that you have seen these musical staves and time signatures before. I wonder if you do find it easier to understand what is in your hymn books after completing this task?! You’ll have to let us know after you have been back to church.

In your create you have used the semibreves correctly to make up the 4 beats in a bar. I think you may need to go back and have another look at the difference of time for a crotchet and a minim as I think your second and last bar may have 5 beats in them – double check.

Did you have a go at clapping out the rhythm before you created it?

    Keep up the great work!!!
